Worship

Worship is central to all the activities of the Mothers' Union and every meeting is opened and closed with prayer. Special services are held within the branches, especially on Lady Day (25th March), and in September there is a Diocesan Festival Service to mark the opening of our year's activities. In addition a monthly Holy Communion Service is held in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin at 11.15 am on the first Thursday of every month except January, July and August. We have a long-established diocesan link with the Diocese of Down and Dromore and many inter-branch links have grown up between us. Therefore at this service as we pray in rotation for all our own branches we also remember their links in Down and Dromore.

The Link Prayer

God our Father, we remember with joy that you are present everywhere in your World and will guide those who put their trust in you. We pray for the members of the Branch to whom we are linked and for the members of those Branches whom we think of especially today. Help us to grow in love and understanding of one another and of this land in which we live, so that we may be united in prayer and worship as one family in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
